Stepping up ceremony 2020

Dear Scouts

This Friday, we warmly welcomed our new upcoming leaders in the stepping up ceremony. As Josephians, we should take in hand our new responsibilities with a willingness to serve our community and to be men for others by helping our new scouts navigate through the world of scouting. Despite our new leadership positions, we must be humble at all times and view these positions not as a position of power but of a position to serve more . In scouting, we firmly believe in the absence of rank but the equality among all scouts.

04 scout Investiture 2020

Dear Scouts,

Today, we commemorated our yearly investiture ceremony in the chapel. The ceremonial Investiture in scouting is a very special event as it signifies the beginning of the path each scout will take in his scouting journey. It is at the investiture where the tenderfoots are formally established as scouts by committing themselves to the scout law and promise. In addition to that, safety distancing measures were carried out throughout the ceremony. We wish the incoming scouts to have a meaningful scouting journey and for it to be a journey full of self discovery and betterment.

cooking competition 2020

Dear Scouts,

As circuit breaker measures have loosened, we should take active steps to transition back to our usual physical scout trainings. Today, we commemorate our very first physical meeting after the long circuit breaker period. Today may have been very confusing to those new to cooking. However, it should be noted that in the end, we all learned a new thing or two about it. While the sea patrols were at school being chefs, the land patrols took to online platforms like google meet to conduct their own training. The Year 3s learnt to plan their own hikes, the Year 2s learnt about first aid and the Year 1s learnt about the World Scout badge and its history. Hopefully that by the end of the day, we all learned something new, be it about cooking, hiking, first aid, scout history or even about getting to know a fellow scout in order to deepen relations with one another.

These are some of the pictures of what took place in school.
